I have been tagged/received my first blog award from the momma to be, Amber Sturgess, The Sturgy Family Blog.

This is how the award works: we are to post 7 things about us that few people know and then tag 5 of our readers.

1.) I HATE math and anything to do with it... this includes counting. But Guess what? I work at a bank and this is all I do everyday. I have gotten better at it, but it is something I still have to really think about before I actually do it.

2.) I also despise ironing. (and washing dishes dishes) I don't iron ANYTHING, unless my husband needs me to. I don't buy clothes that need ironing and if i accidentally do I will either wear it wrinkled or not wear it at all. :)

3.) I look for a new job every single day...

4.) I wish I never signed the contract for the NMSU Grants project I am working on. It sucks.

5.) I thoroughly enjoy dressing up. Especially for work. It is very cool to be able to dress nice, sophisticated and stylish everyday! :D But I also love to dress down, play sports, shoot guns and ride four wheelers. I am a girly girl and tom boy all in one.

6.) I have a headache and a neck ache everyday from my car accident back in 2003. It sucks but I am used to it now. It just hurts more some days than others. Lately it has been more than less, but I think I am soo used to it, I must have a high pain tolerance by now.

7.) And I have only kissed one boy in my life and I plan to keep it that way! :)

Soccer

So I realize that I haven't blogged about much lately... except for ANTM and I also realize that many of you probably don't watch ANTM, so you probably could care less. :) The truth is I don't have a whole lot going on. Just the same old, same with working at the bank. However I don't think I've blogged too much about my soccer teams this season, so I thought I would share a little bit about them today!

Again this season I am helping coach 2 soccer teams. A U10 team (which is 8-10 year old) and a U14 team (12-14 y/o). My teams are both pretty awesome, but I have decided that I LOVE coaching little kids a lot better than the big ones. I cannot say enough about how much I LOVE my U10 team. They are mostly little girls and they are just a bunch of really good kids. I am taking more responsibility coaching them and yesterday I ran the majority of the practice all by myself. They are just soo darn cute. I was late for practice on Monday and when I got there there they all gave me hugs and when we play offense/defense they all beg to be on whatever team that I will coaching. Awww... :)

My U14 team is also REALLY good. They are a team of all boys and one girl, but have some boys that have waay more skill than I do! I don't like coaching them as much because they intimidate me a bit more than the little kids because they are all taller than me!! But I am doing better about coaching them. With them I think I developed a different method of coaching, where instead of yelling things out like I do my little kids, I go up to them and talk to them about what they could have done differently and stuff like that.

Anyway, they have both have 2 games so far and my little kids have won both of the games and big kids are 1-1, but they had a bunch of kids missing for their first game because of track meet.

I cant tell you how much I look forward to practice days and game days with them! I love coaching! :)

ANTM Last night....

Man I totally miss called last night's ANTM episode! And I am soo incredibly sad that NM's ANTM candidate, FO went home! But I knew it before the show was even half way over because she pretty much sucked it up! She was the only one really late from her go-sees, all the go-sees hated her and she REALLY sucked on her photo shoot. Buh Bye! But it is pretty neat that she made the top 5! :)

Celia, the old one (at 24) was also in the bottom 2 and Aminat was the other girl in the bottom 3.

Right now I am thinking that the top 2 will be Feyona and Allison, the freak. But we will see.... until next time.

ANTM Prediction

Real quick before I go to practice..I would like to predict that Aminat will be going home tonight on ANTM. Also Aminat, Celia and Fo will be bottom 3 fo sho.

Weekend

We had such a fun time with my sister in laws this weekend! Ryan drove to Los Lunas and picked them up on Friday after work. We didn't do too much on Friday besides played some board games and get them ready for bed, but Saturday was another story.

Saturday morning I had a soccer game pretty early, so Katie went with me to the game and Rebecca and Ryan walked Bailey to the game. (The walk is over a mile! But Bailey has to go because she is my team's mascot! lol)

After the game we took them to this really neat play ground that is 3 stories tall!! They had a ton of fun there!



Later on Saturday we took them roller skating! Grants just opened up a roller rink and it is really pretty neat. None of us were very good at skating in the beginning, but by the end we were all pros! We all had an absolute blast and I have 2 black and blue knees to prove it!!



Sunday we went to church, went out to brunch and then relaxed at home. We worked on science fair projects and showed the girls our pop up camper.

I love them soo much! I look forward to our next visit with them (in 2 weeks) for their birthday! :)

Update

This will be short because I am running late this morning, Lol.

We get to see my sister in laws this weekend! We haven't seen them in probably a month or two, but it seems like FOREVER. I miss those little girls Sooo much! Ryan is leaving early from work today and picking them up in Los Lunas and we get them until Sunday when we will probably drop them back off in Los Lunas. We have lots of exciting things planned for them! They opened up a rollerskating rink here in town and we went, but didn't skate, for the little girl next door's birthday party. It is a really neat place and I KNOW the girls will have a blast, especially if we can get their brother out there skating! Lol. I also have a soccer game to coach tonight and tomorrow morning and the kids are around the girls age... so I think they will enjoy that. And I guess they have science fair projects to do this weekend and they want their older brother to help them with that. Soo cute. :) I plan on taking TONS of pictures :)

I will write my ANTM update a little later... but I called it again. :)

Good bye?

I am soo frustrated right now. As you all know I did a blood drive for the government about a month ago and it didn't go as well as I would have liked. The coordinator that I worked with at the United Blood Services (UBS) Marta, knew that day how I was feeling because I was soo mad that I told her. My Uncle is a big shot with the UBS, he does 3 or 4 drives a year and gets hundreds of units EVERY drive! Amazing! He has been working with them for YEARS. I told him about my last blood drive and how frustrated I was with it. He told me to complain with the uppers, he said he always does when he has an issue and they always make sure it doesn't happen again. He told me 2 names of people to call, and one of the ladies, Michelle that he told me about was my UBS coordinator for a year in Socorro, so I thought I would call her, I know her, she knows me, she would understand where I was coming from.

I called, left a message for Michelle and the next day I got a phone call from Marta. Weird I thought, she had to have known that I called Michelle... they had to have talked. So today I get ANOTHER message from Marta. This time she wasn't very nice. She left a message saying she would like to talk to me, she said that her and Michelle were coworkers and it was kind of awkward and if I have in issue I needed to tell her about it.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, this lady should know my issue because she knew I was pissed the day of the drive when the bus left a couple hours earlier than it was supposed to and they didn't call me! What the Hell!

So, I called my uncle back and he said maybe Michelle got demoted because he thought she was an upper and that she wouldn't be Marta's coworker. He told me to call someone else that was higher than everyone that he knows well. BUT honestly, I am kind of sick of it all. I just want to kind of wipe my hands clean. I don't think I will be a coordinator anymore ever and I am not even sure about donating... I mean I think it is a VERY good thing to donate and I am a gallon donor, but I don't want to run into that damn Marta lady at any of the drives here. Soo stupid.

ANTM

Like I expected, London went home. She has been gaining weight, and just not performing very well since the beginning.... I knew it wouldn't be long before she went home. :)

This week the girls did a phot shoot with Ciara and they had to be wrapped in wires. You know, I really don't like that Natalie girl. Teyona got the best picture and she definately deserved it. London didn't do well, of course and Aminat actually sucked it up as well.

Next week the girls go overseas, to Brazil.


I hope Natalie or Aminat go home this coming week. Allison has also been looking really weak, but I think she is going to step it up in Brazil.

I really hope Fo does well for at least another week or two... but we will see how she looks in Brazil. The previews show that there is going to be some tension between Fo and the other girls in the house, which either makes or breaks some models.

ANTM tonight

I just realized that I never wrote a blog about last weeks ANTM episode!!
Ooops!! Well, I predicted it correctly, kind of. I predicted either Allison, London or Tahlia would go home and Tahlia went home and Allison was on the bottom 2 with her. London moved up the ladder, because apparently she can act. Who would have thought?

So who goes home tonight?? I think London or Allison, however my supervisor (who is a man, a straight man) predicts that tonight NM's own FO will be going home. I sure hope not, unless she REALLY messes up, I don't see that happening.

I will update after the show to see if I am correct! :) Hasta!

Sedation?

We are trying to get Eric shaved... we did this to him last year and it was FABULOUS! He loved, we loved it, it was a win win. Only this time I am having a hard time finding someone to shave him. Last time, we were in Socorro, they were low on dog groomers and the vet (who was also our next door neighbor) offered to shave him for us. They said that they couldn't promise it would be pretty, but they could definitely shave him and they did. So now we are in a new town... I have been asking around about pet groomers and I have heard that one lady was good and the other not so much. I called the first and she said that she only grooms cats if they have been sedated at the vets office. I am not so sure how I feel about this. I don't necessarily want to get Eric sedated, if we don't have to. Today I will try and call the other groomer in town... but I have a feeling she doesn't do cats as well. (she sounded old and frail on her answering machine.) I guess, depending on what the groomer I call today says, I will consider sedating Eric for a shaving. I just worry about him... he is all kinds fat and overweight and I LOVE him to DEATH... I just don't want anything to happen to him over an unnecessary sedation. :(

Moving on up

Well, I am moving up in the handbag world. I have my sights set on a new coach bag. :) I went throught the website the other day and picked a couple of my favorites (that were reasonable prices) and I may do another, pick the handbag section on here. I can only pick one because they are a little pricier, but they are all so very cute, I know I will need help selecting, just ONE. So stay tuned for that!

Easter Weekend

I had a really good weekend... but it definitely didn't feel like an Easter weekend.
I saw a lot of the people I love, all in one day and did some shopping! Good times! And I saw 2 pregnant ladies in one day! :)

Saturday we went to Albuquerque, my mom was pretty sad because this was our first Easter without my grandmother... and my grandma's birthday was Friday... so it was a hard time for her. She had wanted us to go to Socorro, but we opted to meet them in Albuquerque instead. We had a really nice lunch with them and then headed to my Uncle Pete's house to visit him and his pregnant wife and look at their nursery. Baby Isabella has grown sooo much since the last time I saw my Aunt Carla's belly! They are soo excited and showed off all of the stuff they bought for her! I just can't wait until I get to meet her! We had a really nice visit with all of them, when we left everyone headed to the casino, while Ryan and I went shopping.

After a massive shopping spree... I decided it had been far too long since I had seen my preggars friend Dawn and her baby belly. So we headed over to their house for nice little visit before we headed back to Grants. I probably hadn't seen Dawn in a couple months and I have been getting belly updates from our friend Traci who works with her, good times. It was VERY good to see her and I can't remember the last time I saw her adorable son, Diego... who agrees with me that his mom is having a baby sister! :) I can't wait until her baby, 'numero dos' comes and I will FINALLY know if it is a boy or a girl... but I REALLY hope it is a girl and apparently so does Diego! lol

And Today... was a wonderful relaxing Sunday. It definitely didn't feel like Easter, except for going to a packed Sunday mass at church and having to stand in the back... but my mom was right, Easter doesn't feel like Easter unless you are spending it with your family. hmmm.... maybe next year.

Oven

HERE is my new oven! It is soo beautiful, it was actually hard to get a picture of because it has such a big beautiful reflection. lol. I have Never had a new appliance before, so I was REALLY excited for this oven. Next year it is a stove... but until then I will admire my reflection in my oven!



Oh yes and I have to give props to my husband, who took out the old oven and installed the new oven All by himself! I was very impressed.

We went out on a hike Sunday and took Bailey up the Mountain that is not too far from our house. I had my phone with me and took some pictures of Bailey and Ryan so I thought I'd share. :)

Marley and Me

So I finally saw the movie Marley and Me. And I must say, compared to the book, the movie really sucked. I finished the book at 1:30 in the morning on Friday because we got the movie in on Netflix. The book was Awesome! I highly recommend the book! I guess the movie may have been ok... if I hadn't read the book first... but I did. I guess that is how it goes. So today I wanted to share a quote from the book, that didn't make the movie. They mentioned part of it, but totally changed all the words and I think the author said it better in the book:

"'A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours,' I wrote. "Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. Yesterday we took Bailey out on a big hike in the Mountains and I kept thinking about how much fun she was having and how the most simple things make her very happy. I am soo glad I grew up with dogs and now have one of my own because they definitely show you the finer side of life, the simple life. They don't care what kind of car you drive, handbag you have or how expensive your house is... all they care about is you, their owner and they will be soo very loyal. Amazing. Anyway I can't wait until it gets warmer here and we will take Bailey in the Mountains every other weekend, whether it be hiking around or camping, she is going to enjoy every second of it and so will we!

Fixed!

We called Roto Rooter on Saturday and they called us back Sunday when we were heading home from church. They came about 1:30 and by 3 our entire house was snaked and running just like new. I guess there was a clog, all kinds of mud and dirt from our washing machine that backed up water into our sink. He asked us if we wash muddy cloths a lot, and we definitely don't, but who knows what the previous owners did, or even the ones before them. We had no idea when the house had been snaked last, so we had him do everything. We also had some branches in our pipes, but I guess they got roto rooted out... I dunno. I don't exactly understand the process... all I know is that everything is working like it should!

Yay!

The joys of being a homeowner...

So I cannot use my washing machine, dishwasher or do anything involving water in my sink until we get a plumber to our house! Fun Stuff!

On Thursday, while Ryan was gone, I was doing a load of laundry (and eating dinner in front of the TV) when I heard water gushing. I ran into the kitchen and both of my sinks were filled with water and water was pouring out all over the kitchen. I stopped the washing machine and the water stopped coming out. After I used every last towel in the house to clean it up and emptied out my drawers that were also filled with water I called Ryan crying... he was on a business trip and was out bowling. Soooo Not Fair! lol

I have been afraid to do anything until he came home. So yesterday, since he was home, we decided to run the dishwasher. My silverware drawer was one that got flooded, so I threw all of the silverware in the dishwasher. It seemed like the dishwasher was running fine, but when it came to the end of the cycle, where it is supposed to drain the water and dry the dishes.... the water started pouring out of the dishwasher. Luckily Ryan was here to help with this mess.... but I still had all of my towels soaking in the washer because I was afraid to use the washer, so we used 3 rolls of paper towels to clean up the mess!

We decided we have a clog somewhere in between the washer, sink and dishwasher and we called a plumber. I guess plumbers don't work on weekends here... so we have to wait until the week sometime. Until then I am washing dishes in the bathrooms and hoping we have enough clean clothes to get us by until Mr. Plumber comes!

Ahh, the joys of being a homeowner!

ANTM update

Well.. I couldn't have called this week's episode any better. I must say I was pretty proud of my ANTM predicting skills, although it is a little sad and scary that I know what is going to happen... its like I read Tyra's mind. Scary.

This week the girls learned how to model with their faces and use facial expressions. Again Sandra, Allison and even Tahlia really didn't do very well in the challenge. Natalie ended up winning the challenge... pretty much by a landslide... but I am still not very impressed with Natalie. She doesn't have a very good personality and her pictures, just aren't that awesome.

Anyway, they had a photo shoot where they had to model, solely with their face. They had nasty paint all over their face and each had a different color, which they had to be that color.... with their face and expressions.

Fo's confidence seems to be really high and she is working it! It definitely seems she will be in the competition a lot longer than I expected.... which is really neat! Way to make NM look good! :)

Anyway, like I predicted when it came to the bottom 2, Celia was put in the bottom 2 with Sandra, so Tyra could teach her a lesson for throwing another model under the bus. I called that one. And FINALLY Sandra went home!!! She was in complete denial that she sucks at life and said she didn't know why she was going home because she was better than every model there. Pshh... whatever honey! America will be lucky if we never see you again! :D he he he.

My predictions for next week, well, that is a tough one. London has been going downhill fast and Allison, man Allison has really been sucky lately. So I think Tahlia, London or Allison will be somewhere near the bottom... if not the bottom 2... UNLESS some major drama goes down, which is always a possibility because it is a 2 hour show next week with Clay Aiken guest staring.
